Background :

The main challenge was to transform a complex application platform into a seamless tool capable of guiding project leaders through the various stages of the selection process. The competition needed to be modernized to attract social entrepreneurs while ensuring flawless technical performance so that no applicants would be lost due to slow loading times.

What I implemented :

UX audit and candidate journey : In-depth analysis of the application submission process. The goal was to reduce cognitive load so that users could focus solely on presenting their projects, while minimizing friction during registration and document uploads.

UI Design and visual identity : Creation of a Design System in Figma using the visual language of the social and solidarity economy: an inspiring color palette (deep blues and touches of vibrant orange), a legible typography, and “organic” graphic elements evoking the name “Octopousse.”

Elementor integration and dynamism : Development of a modular structure to highlight the different phases of the contest (opening, selection, public voting, announcement of winners). The site is 100% responsive, allowing candidates to view results or edit their profiles from any device.

Technical SEO and accessibility : Optimization of semantic markup to boost the contest’s local and national search engine rankings, and improvement of loading speed to meet Google’s requirements.

Results :

The concours-octopousse.fr website has become a valuable bridge between project leaders and the jury. The interface takes a back seat to highlight social innovation. For the client, management is streamlined thanks to a clear structure that allows key dates and partners to be updated in just a few clicks, while providing a reassuring and professional user experience (UX) for applicants.

Key points highlighted on the final website :

Clarity of information : Within three seconds, you can understand what the contest is, the prize amount, and how to enter.

Credibility : Highlighting partners and past winners builds trust.

Engagement : The call to action (CTA) “Submit my project” is prominent but not intrusive.
